Semana Santa Marinera Valencia 2026
Unique Holy Week processions through Valencia's historic fishing district, facing the Mediterranean Sea.
The Semana Santa Marinera is Valencia's distinctive take on Holy Week celebrations. Unlike the grand processions of Seville or Málaga, Valencia's version takes place in the traditional fishing neighborhoods of Cabanyal, Canyamelar, and Grau, giving it a uniquely maritime character.
Silent processions wind through narrow streets facing the Mediterranean Sea, carried by traditional brotherhoods (cofradías) with distinctive processional imagery rooted in the seafaring heritage of the district. The atmosphere is intimate and deeply moving.
Declared a Festival of National Tourist Interest, the Semana Santa Marinera offers visitors a chance to experience authentic Valencian traditions away from the tourist crowds.
Getting There
Take metro line 5 or tram lines 4 and 6 to the Cabanyal neighborhood. The main processions run along Calle de la Reina and surrounding streets.
